1. Terms and conditions of sale of products on www.lanebooks.com
Date of last update: 28/09/2024.
Article 1 - Prices
1.1 - The prices of our products are indicated in euros all taxes included (VAT + other taxes, and in particular videogram taxes, eco-participation, etc.), but excluding delivery costs.
1.2 - When you place an order outside France, you are the importer of the products concerned. For all products shipped outside the European Union and French Overseas Territories, the price excluding taxes is automatically calculated on the invoice. Customs duties or other local taxes or import duties or state duties may be due. These rights and amounts do not fall within the scope of Lane Publications. They are at your expense and are your sole responsibility, both in terms of declarations and payments to the relevant authorities and/or organisations in your country. We recommend that you contact your local authorities for information on these aspects.
1.3 - Lane Publications reserves the right to change its prices at any time, but the products will be invoiced on the basis of the prices in force at the time of your order confirmation.
1.4 - The products remain the property of Lane Publications until full payment of the price. We remind you that when you physically take possession of the products you have ordered, the risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you.
Article 2 - Order
You place your order on www.lanebooks.vom via the Internet.
The contractual information is presented in English and will be the subject of a confirmation, in which this contractual information will be reproduced, at the latest at the time of your order confirmation.
Article 3 - Confirmation of your order
You acknowledge having read and accepted these terms and conditions before placing your order. Confirmation of your order therefore constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
A summary of your order and the general terms and conditions will be sent to you in PDF format in the order confirmation email.
By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree that your invoice will be made available in electronic form in your customer area.
Article 4 - Availability
Lane Publications is a retailer and does not intend to sell the products offered in bulk. Lane Publications therefore reserves the right to refuse orders for the same product in larger quantities, from three identical items.
Our product offers are valid as long as they are visible on the website, while stocks last, except for special offers, which are marked as such on the website. If a product becomes unavailable after you have placed your order, we will notify you by email. Your order will then be automatically cancelled and no funds will be debited from your account. For your information: debiting will only take place once the package is shipped.
Article 5 - Delivery
5.1 - General
The products will be delivered to the delivery address that you provided during the ordering process, unless delivery restrictions are indicated in the ‘Delivery Policy’ section, within the time frame indicated on the page where the customer confirms their order.
The delivery time corresponds to the shipping time indicated on the item card plus the processing and transport time.
In the case of delivery by a carrier requiring an appointment to be made with the customer, the carrier will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a delivery date with you, but no later than 30 days from the date of your order confirmation. Lane Publications cannot be held responsible for delivery delays resulting solely from the customer‘s unavailability after several appointments proposed by the carrier.
When you order several products at the same time and they have different delivery times, the order‘s delivery time is calculated based on the furthest delivery time. However, Lane Publications reserves the right to split the shipments. Contribution to processing and shipping costs will only be charged for a single shipment.
In the event of a delay in delivery, you will receive an e-mail informing you of any possible impact on the delivery time indicated to you. In the event of a delay in delivery, we will suggest a new delivery period by e-mail.
In any event, in accordance with the legal provisions, in the event of late delivery, you have the option of cancelling the contract under the conditions and terms set out in Article L 216-2 of the Consumer Code. In this case, if you have received the product after your cancellation, we will arrange for a refund of the product and the costs for the outward journey under the conditions of Article L 216-3 of the Consumer Code.
We also recommend that you regularly check your order and contact us if you have any questions or problems.
When paying by credit card and delivery in instalments, only the products shipped will be charged.
We remind you that the risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you at the moment you (or a third party designated by you) physically take possession of the products ordered.
5.2 - Reservations
You must report any reservations regarding the delivered product to the carrier and to Lane Publications (e.g. damaged package, package that has already been opened, etc.).
Article 6 - Payment
We remind you that confirmation of your order implies an obligation to pay the price indicated at your expense. Payment for your purchases can be made by PayPal, Apple Pay or credit card.
Article 8 - Security
Our website is subject to a security system.
We use SSL encryption, but we have also strengthened all encryption and encryption procedures to protect all sensitive payment data as effectively as possible.
Article 9 - Right of withdrawal
9.1 - Legal period for the right of withdrawal
In accordance with the applicable legal provisions, you may exercise your right of withdrawal without stating reasons or paying a penalty within 14 days of receipt of the products. After you have notified us of your decision to exercise your right of cancellation within this 14-day period, you have a further 14 days to return the goods affected by the cancellation.
9.2 - Contractually agreed cancellation period.
On www.lanebooks.com, we offer you the opportunity to exercise your right of cancellation within 15 days of receipt of the products. After that, you have a further 15 days from the notification of your decision to cancel to return the products in question to us.
In the case of an order containing several products and placed on www.lanebooks.com, the 15-day period for notifying us of your decision to cancel begins when you receive the last product.
The terms for exercising your right of cancellation are set out in 8.3.
9.3 Conditions for exercising the right of withdrawal
If you exercise your right of withdrawal within the period specified in 8.2, only the price of the purchased product(s) and shipping costs will be refunded; the costs of returning the goods are at your expense.
Returns must be in their original and complete condition (packaging, accessories, instructions for use, etc.) to enable them to be remarketed as new, and, if possible, be accompanied by a copy of the purchase invoice to enable optimised processing. You may be held liable for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and proper functioning of the product.
To exercise your right of withdrawal in accordance with the legal requirements, please find attached the model withdrawal form to be sent to us at the following address: Lane Publications SAS, 11 rue du Bois de Boulogne, 75116 Paris, France. You may exercise your right of cancellation in any way you choose, including by letter or email in which you unequivocally express your wish to cancel and which mentions the order affected by this cancellation.
Once you have sent the cancellation form or declaration to Lane Publications within 15 days of receiving your order, you must return the affected products to Lane Publications within a reasonable period and at the latest within 15 days of sending the cancellation form or declaration.
9.6 - Refund
In the event of the right of cancellation being exercised, Lane Publications will refund the amounts paid (including delivery costs) at the latest within 14 days from the day on which we received your decision to cancel the contract, using the same means of payment that you used for the order. The repayment period may be extended until the product is returned or until proof of shipment of the product is provided, whichever occurs first. Lane Publications is not obliged to reimburse you for additional costs if you have explicitly chosen a more expensive delivery method than the standard delivery method offered on www.lanebooks.com.
